소니인터랙티브엔터테인먼트코리아(이하 SIEK, 대표: 안도 테츠야)는 PlayStation®4(이하 PS4™)용 소프트웨어 ‘그란 투리스모 스포트’ 8월 업데이트 배포를 2018년 8월 29일(수)부터 시작했다.

이번 업데이트에서는 새로운 차량 8대를 비롯하여 새로운 코스, 스포츠 모드 기능 및 ‘GT 리그’의 새로운 이벤트가 추가된다.

이번 업데이트를 통해 '모터 레이싱 역사에 이름을 남긴 올드 레이서', '실용적이고 활동적인 이탈리안 핫 해치' 등을 테마로 한 총 8종의 차량이 새롭게 추가된다.

새롭게 추가되는 코스는 오스트리아 그라츠의 서북쪽에 위치한 녹음이 가득한 서킷 '레드불 링'이다. 이 서킷은 예리한 턴이 필요한 어려운 코너와 장거리 코스를 이은 고속 서킷이다. 그 외에도 GT 리그 싱글 플레이어 모드에 새로운 이벤트 3가지가 추가되며, 스포츠 모드에서는 과거 챔피언십의 랭킹을 볼 수 있는 아카이브가 지원된다. 또한 뮤지엄과 스케이프, 서킷 익스피리언스에도 새로운 요소가 추가된다.
